The way Sanctuary is formally defined often differs from the way we understand it culturally. Sanctuary is understood as a place of refuge, and stay, negating the fact that it can be found in occurrences, experiences, and objects.

 

While “Collaging with Intent” I would like you to create collages keeping the word sanctuary in mind.

 

Ask yourself:

What brings me comfort?

What symbols are associated to the moments that I have felt comfort?

Then bring those symbols together to create a work that depicts all of the times you have found refuge.
